Rekindling The Desire To Create... Before it's too late!
Today, more of us are consumers than creators; we eat and drink more, buy more clothes, use more products and generally discard more and more rubbish! In this over stimulated advertising-saturated world of commercialism our focus is pulled towards products that provide instant gratification - on products that 'cure' our 'illusionary' problems.
It seems our left-brain self-obsessed way of being has become increasingly dismissive of our natural right-brain creativity. The trend is to give up any skill enhancing ideas long before we can achieve anything satisfying, in favour of a quick fix. The resultant frustration and laziness adds significantly to self-induced stagnation of energy, low self-esteem and ultimately is leading us into an obesity epidemic.
So what can we do as individuals to help bring about the kind of social transformation that is so obviously required? How can we re-claim the desire to create that we unwittingly discard on a daily basis? How can we emerge from the cocoon, to transform into the beautiful butterfly?
The simple act of being creative is natural, it stems from our continuous loving connection with our creative source through our right brain hemisphere. It is only ever blocked by our habitual left-brain denial of its existence in any moment. The "I can't" syndrome! That denial made convincingly real by our own fears, by our ego, by our subconscious guilt. The false idea we buy into, that no matter what we do, we can't make a difference. To overcome this fear of failure, we must simply realize that we can, and do, create our lives; realize that we create all that we focus on. All that we are conscious of.
Creativity is not so much an individual process, but a ritual, an altered state of awareness, a personal intention to re-connect with the Omni-versal Mind. We enter this altered state when we push the boundaries of our abilities, in the arts, in a sport, in a hobby, or in a career. We literally move 'outside the box' and embrace the power of 'Oneness'. When we are completely focused on our creativity, the left-brain ego stops controlling; time flies, every act, idea and intention flows seamlessly from the previous one with a sense of certainty. The whole being is absorbed in the creative process, and individual skills are developed to the maximum to benefit the all.
The energy of this 'Oneness' establishes bonds and relationships that are not about power over others, or win-loose; they are about cooperation and win-win. This relationship is service oriented rather than self-oriented, and is for most of us a radical shift; a commitment to personal and social transformation. One that moves forward for the good of all.
Social transformation is the outcome of an internal change of ethics, the thoughts of today affecting the reality of tomorrow. Changed thoughts and intentions that reflect outwards to enhance skills and increase satisfaction. Any addiction to drugs, alcohol, food and all quick-fix solutions diminish giving rise to feelings of being connected to the Creator within. The truth, which can only ever be 'concealed' momentarily, is that our collective thoughts really do create our world!
